We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, shipping address, shop information, and listing content. We collect usage data automatically: pages visited, search queries, device type, and IP address. When you make a purchase, payment information is processed by Square — we do not store card numbers.
We use your information to: operate and improve the marketplace; process transactions and send order updates; send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notifications); respond to support requests; detect and prevent fraud; comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We share your information with: Square (payment processing), Shippo (shipping labels and tracking), Resend (transactional email delivery), Supabase (database and authentication), and Anthropic (AI listing enhancement). Each provider has their own privacy policy. We share only what is necessary to provide the service.
When a buyer places an order, their name, email, and shipping address are shared with the seller to fulfill the order. Sellers' public profile information (username, shop name, city, state) is visible to all users. Sellers' email addresses are not shared publicly.
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not function properly. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Order records are retained for 7 years for legal and tax purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting support@openvendi.com. Note that some data may be retained for legal compliance even after deletion.
We use industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption, secure password hashing, and row-level security on our database. No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to support@openvendi.com.
OpenVendi is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will terminate it.
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to processing of your data; export your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact support@openvendi.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
